Adam Newman Leaves Jack, Kyle, And Summer Stunned

The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, February 10, 2023, brings a shocking move from Adam Newman that leaves a handful of Abbotts surprised.

In addition, Phyllis returned home to an angry Daniel, and he gave Lily some surprising news about his mom. Plus, Victor told Michael they were moving fast on McCall Industries, and Victoria let her father know things were ready to push forward. Finally, Audra Charles tried to be friends without benefits with Tucker, which left Nate impressed. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.

Young and the Restless Recap: Adam Newman Stuns Jabot

Summer (Allison Lanier) wondered just what her Uncle Adam (Mark Grossman) was doing listening at Jack’s (Peter Bergman) door. Adam immediately copped to eavesdropping, and Summer demanded that they stop. He let his niece know he wanted to go in and tell Jack himself since the whole conversation was about him. Adam declared he was going to put an end to it, and he invited Summer in with him since Kyle (Michael Mealor) had worked with Victor (Eric Braeden).

Inside, Jack took Kyle to task about what he’d given Victor and the lies he’d told. Kyle insisted he’d done nothing wrong, and Jack felt insulted by Kyle’s actions. He told his son not to do Victor’s bidding. Jack pointed out that Kyle had jumped ship, and he wasn’t letting Jack run the company. Amid the argument, Adam walked in, and Jack let him know he was interrupting, but Adam wanted to help.

Summer walked in too, and Kyle wanted her to leave, but she already knew what was going on. Kyle was furious with Adam, but the Jabot co-CEO said that he told his niece the truth. Then, Adam declared that Jack should thank both Victor and Kyle for their collusion. Jack and Kyle acted like Adam was ridiculous, and Summer suggested they listen to Adam. She dropped the textile mills piece, and Jack couldn’t believe Kyle sold him out for those properties. He noted that the other shoe was about to drop.

Kyle insisted that nothing else was coming, but Jack knew better. Adam spoke up again and said Kyle had just been looking out for Jabot. He admitted that he hadn’t lived up to his potential during his time at the company. Adam had lost his focus and didn’t bring value. Jack offered to help Adam, but the younger man didn’t believe things would change. Instead, Adam told Jack he was leaving Jabot — Jack could either fire him or let him resign. Jack seemed stunned.

Young and the Restless: You’re Fired

Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Lily (Christel Khalil) sat down together for dinner. They talked about business and his Omega Sphere project. Lily asked after Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), and Daniel needed to talk about his mom, who’d gone too far. In fact, Daniel planned on firing her. Lily wanted to make sure Daniel really wanted to do that, but he insisted he did, so Lily fully supported him.

Talk turned to their angsty past, and Lily noted she’d kill Maddie or Charlie if they ran away like she did. Things got awkward when Lily realized Daniel didn’t have a relationship with Lucy right now, and she told him to keep the faith. Daniel’s phone rang, and it was his mom.

Phyllis walked into The Grand Phoenix, and she saw Tucker (Trevor St. John). They snarked at each other. He thought Phyllis’s trip must’ve not gone well, and she told him to go to hell. All in all, quite productive. Phyllis went up to her room, and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) walked up to Tucker with a rude comment about the interaction she’d witnessed.

Audra suggested that either she or Tucker move out of The Grand Phoenix, so they could stop having uncomfortable run-ins. Tucker wanted to start over, but Audra kept firm. However, after speaking so toughly, she did suggest they work on becoming friends without benefits. He thought it’d be tough, but agreed they could maybe make it work. Of course, Audra noted that Tucker didn’t have many friends, but then again, neither did she.

Young and the Restless Recap: Oh, Mother

Phyllis called Daniel, and she wanted to meet face-to-face. He was angry, but he ultimately agreed to see her. Daniel charged into Phyllis’s room, and he was furious about his mom interfering. However, she mentioned seeing Heather and Lucy, and he wanted to know what happened. She told him, and Daniel worried it’d been a failure, as Phyllis admitted she hadn’t been too successful.

Daniel was furious that Phyllis had forced the issue — it was too soon. He went off on his mom for sticking her nose in his business. Phyllis suggested they table it before they said stuff they’d regret, but Daniel forcefully told his mom to stay out of his business.

Phyllis tried to talk about Omega Sphere, but Daniel said he’d meant his actual business was what he wanted her to stay out of. He terminated her employment, leaving Phyllis stunned.

Lily ended up at the Crimson Lights patio, and a frustrated Daniel walked in. He let Lily know that he gave his mom the ax. He ranted about how infuriating Phyllis was. Daniel worried that his mother ruined his chances of reconciling with his family. Lily refused to let Daniel give up on Heather and Lucy because she knows that he is a fighter.

Y&R Recap: Victoria Newman Moving Forward

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) walked into Nate’s (Sean Dominic) office at Newman Media. She wanted an update on their plans for Audra and Tucker. He let Victoria know that Audra and Tucker had a falling out, and he’d asked her to make up with the mogul. Of course, Victoria was impressed by Nate’s move.

Nate let Victoria know how intoxicating he found the way her mind works, and things got a bit more romantic, but a knock on the door interrupted. Audra came in. Victoria needed to get to work, so she left, and Audra made sure she hadn’t interrupted anything. He wanted to know if she’d mended fences with Tucker, and she updated Nate on how things had gone and their upcoming dinner.

At the ranch, Michael (Christian Le Blanc) walked in worried about being called to Victor’s house instead of Newman Enterprises. He was shocked Victor and Victoria wanted to move forward quickly, and Michael warned his boss that Tucker was going to put up a heck of a fight. Of course, Victor isn’t one for walking away from fights.

Victoria walked into the ranch after Michael had left. She informed her dad that everything was in place to make their move against Tucker.
