Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) entered Victor’s office as he reassured Victoria (Amelia Heinle) about accepting Claire into the family. Adam questioned the meaning of acceptance and expressed concern about allowing a mentally ill felon into the fold. Victor emphasized taking things one day at a time and trusted Victoria’s judgment. Nikki arrived, and she noted that Claire posed a threat to Adam’s ego.
Despite concerns, Victor, Victoria, and Nick advocated for compassion towards Claire. Adam remained skeptical and stressed caution over compassion, fearing the return of Jordan. Victoria believed Jordan would stay in prison, and Nikki reassured Victor that Claire was trying to fill an empty place in her heart.
In the psychiatric hospital, Claire received a call from Jordan (Colleen Zenk), who tried to manipulate her against the Newmans. Claire declared she wanted Jordan dead and handed the phone to an orderly, vowing never to take a call from that number again. Jordan’s desperate pleas echoed as Claire rolled up into a ball, referring to the caller as “the devil.”
Family Again
Heather (Vail Bloom) flashed back to the night spent with Daniel (Michael Graziadei) as she buttoned her blouse at his place. Questions lingered as he wondered about their next steps. Apologizing for putting him on the spot, she asked what he wanted to happen. Daniel acknowledged his past mistakes, and Heather, done with recriminations, wanted to look toward the future.
Daniel expressed concern for Lily, believing she deserved better. Heather reminded him he and Lily weren’t committed. Despite the challenges, they needed to explore the possibility of a future together. The love and connection were still there, and now that Daniel was feeling like his old self, they could be together as a family again.
Of course, Lily weighed on Daniel’s mind. Heather, not pushing, felt as close to him as ever before. He confessed he’d never allowed himself to consider being with her again. Heather couldn’t be around him without wanting to be with him, and he admired her strength, beauty, and brilliance. They decided to go out for a late lunch and continue their discussion.
A New Direction
At Chancellor-Winters, Abby (Melissa Ordway) stopped by to see Devon (Bryton James), reminding him of her suggestion to hire her for added defense against Tucker. Devon agreed to put Abby on the board. They decided to go to Society for lunch.
Devon and Abby noticed Daniel and Heather at the restaurant. After some chit-chat, they found their own table, with Devon noting how easy it would be to sell Abby joining the board to Jill and others.
Abby expressed her excitement about contributing to their son’s legacy and wanting to get back into the corporate world. Devon advised her to control her expectations regarding the politics and roadblocks on the board. As they discussed her desire to maximize her creative instincts, Abby noticed Devon’s attention on Daniel and Heather.
