The Young and the Restless has a new family on the canvas and they seem to be taking over all of Genoa City! But, do they deserve all this attention or not?
First came Arturo (Jason Canela). He was introduced slowly, originally as just the contractor on Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) properties. Then, as the stud Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) was sleeping with while she and Victor (Eric Braeden) went through their “open marriage” charade.
Then, as the guy dating Abby (Melissa Ordway). And viewers responded more or less positively. At least they didn’t flat out hate him and want Arturo to disappear.
Later, we got Rey (Jordi Vilasuso). We didn’t know he was Arturo’s brother at first. We just knew he was investigating JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) disappearance, and he suspected the Newmans did it.
Then we found out these two bros hated each other, even though both adored their baby sister, Lola (Sasha Calle).
Lola was talked about before she was seen. Abby found her bra in Arturo’s couch and assumed he had another woman. Now that we know Lola, does she seem like the flinging her underwear about the apartment type?
But, anyway, we digress. Lola is dating Kyle (Michael Mealor). And breaking up with Kyle. Rinse, repeat. (Except now she’s in a coma, so that’s at least different.)
But wait, there’s more! Here comes Mia (Noemi Gonzalez)! She dated Arturo, then married Rey, then cheated on him with Arturo, then followed Rey to Genoa City. That’s a lot of Rosaleses in a short time! Almost 6,000 fans told us how they feel about that!
Majority Opinion
For 63% of you, it’s too much. A whole new family when vets like Jack (Peter Bergman) and Lauren (Tracy Bregman) are only on sporadically, Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) is only around to yell “Objection,” Dina (Marla Adams) has been invisible for weeks, and Paul (Doug Davidson) even longer. Play the vets before you shove newbies down our throats!
Minority Opinion
Genoa City is way, way too white, and 36% of the audience is cheering the addition of the Rosales clan. Let’s represent the real America!
