Phyllis Summers has really trapped her supposedly beloved kids, Daniel Romalotti and Summer Abbott, between a rock and a hard place on The Young and the Restless. She came to Summer, told her she was alive, and dumped the responsibility over what to do next in her hands.

An overwrought Summer (Allison Lanier) turned to her brother, Daniel (Michael Graziadei). So now both of them could be miserable. Daniel decided to help his sister out by telling Michael (Christian Le Blanc), Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was alive…but leaving Summer out of it. Did he make the right call?

How dare Daniel betray his mother in such a manner, 9% of you demand. And after everything she did for him! She lied about his paternity to give him a better father. She drugged his real father to get blood for a fake paternity test. She might have killed a woman to keep her paternity secret, and then she basically ignored Daniel for all the years he was growing up off-screen. And this is the thanks she gets?

Daniel shouldn’t have sprung this on Summer, 44% argue. He should have waited to go to Michael and the Abbotts until they agreed on a plan. Now Summer feels blindsided, making her situation with Kyle even worse.

Y&R: Swear To Tell
The truth always eventually comes out in Genoa City – except about whether Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) did kill that woman. So it’s always better, according to 47% of the audience, to just come right out with it to start. Daniel took the bull by the horns, bit the bullet, and all other cliches. It was for Summer’s – and even for Phyllis’s – own good. We know he’s right. What a shame his mother and sister will never agree.
