For the past few months, The Young and the Restless fans have been sitting, mouths agape, as Phyllis Summers sunk deeper and deeper into her own insanity. We wondered how low she would go.

And then we wondered how she thought she’d get out of the mess she’d made for herself. Is there any way the redhead can return to Genoa City – and stay out of prison? What almost 2,000 voters said:

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is going down, and 9% of the audience can’t keep from cheering. Her reign of terror against Diane (Susan Walters) – not to mention anyone who refused to be as furious with her daughter’s mother-in-law as Phyllis was – was intolerable. And now there is no way she can escape justice. She framed Diane. She killed Jeremy (James Hyde). She bribed that EMT and she broke and entered. Surely, even one of those crimes is enough to send her to prison. Don’t say all of them together aren’t!

Maybe if Phyllis takes a nice, long break from Genoa City, then maybe everyone will forget, and she can come back to town down the line for a fresh start, 21% of you muse. Genoa City has ridiculously short memories, and they do love to let bygones be bygones. Maybe she can return and give Faith a kidney or something. That ought to do it…

Y&R: On Top
Is this even the worst thing Phyllis has ever done, 70% shrug. Top three, maybe. And she got away with the other two. So, yeah, she’ll beat this rap. She’ll bug out her eyes, and scream about how Diane made her do it, or Jeremy made her do it, or her love for her children made her do it. And everyone who matters will nod their heads and say, “Yeah, that makes sense.” Problem solved.
