Victoria Newman should watch her step with Nate.
On The Young and the Restless, Victoria Newman and Nate Hastings are very lucky that Audra knows how to knock, or else they’d have been caught smooching in the office. While both are legal (if not emotional) adults, and Victoria is technically single, there is still a lot wrong with their locking lips. Is Victoria setting up a Human Resources disaster for Newman Enterprises?
What’s the problem, 18% are wondering. Nobody was forcing anybody else. That kiss was completely consensual. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) wasn’t coercing Nate (Sean Dominic) to do anything he didn’t want to do, and she was certainly not holding his job over his head to make him do it. Yes, Nate is involved with Elena (Brytni Sarpy), but that’s his problem, not hers. And it has nothing to do with Newman Enterprises.
It all depends on what happens next, 40% caution. If the kiss was a one-off and doesn’t affect their work in any way, we don’t see why HR needs to know anything about it. However, we all know how much Nate hates not getting his own way. When Lily (Christel Khalil) didn’t leap up and down with enthusiasm at his suggestions, Nate tried to sabotage their IPO. So we can only imagine how Nate will react if Victoria ever doesn’t indulge in his every whim. And who he’ll go running to complain about it?
Then again, 42% can only see red flags. Victoria is Nate’s boss. Kissing him is crossing a line. Sure, she may think it’s consensual, but Nate has already been black-balled at one major company. Victoria’s is his last shot. He doesn’t want to blow it, too. So maybe he feels he has to do whatever Victoria says. Professionally…and personally. At the very least, there is no way to prove otherwise.
