Young and the Restless Blame Game: Who Is At Fault for Rey’s Death?

Published by

Rey Rosales is dead on The Young and the Restless. Many people are mourning him. A few are trying to figure out who was responsible for his death.

Young and the Restless Polling

It would be easier to figure that out if we’d actually seen the accident. For now, we only have Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) word for how it happened (and we know how reliable he is). Nonetheless, over 5,000 viewers have their pet theories:

Y&R: Accidents Happen

The majority of you, 53%, subscribe to the It Was All an Accident Theory. It was dark out. The streets were wet (it’s spring in Wisconsin, it was likely raining). Everyone was doing their best to be vigilant, but you can’t control every aspect of the road, the lighting, the mechanics. It’s sad Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) is gone, but that doesn’t mean somebody needs to pay for it.

Young and the Restless: Don’t Drive and Cry

Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) was in a highly agitated state. She was crying while driving, which means her vision was impaired. She was wiping her eyes, which means she took her hands off the wheel. And she was talking on the phone, which means her attention was split. Victoria is the culprit here, 21% decree.

Y&R: Extra

Ashland shouldn’t have been following his wife, 19% of the audience counters. You know the Heisenberg Principle? Which says an event is changed merely by being observed. Since Ashland saw Victoria and Rey driving, he caused the accident. That’s science, you know.

Young and the Restless: Self Own

Rey was in a hurry, 4% remind. He was rushing home to get tickets so that precious Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) didn’t experience a moment of discomfort. People have broken bigger laws to protect Connor in the past. Obviously, that’s what Rey did too. And it caused his death.

Y&R: Long Shot

On the other hand, 3%, see this as Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) doing. She invited Rey to the damn hockey game. He wouldn’t have even been on the road if it wasn’t for her!

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes. For more about what’s coming up in Genoa City, check out all the latest that’s been posted on Y&R spoilers, and for an in-depth look at the show’s history, click here.
