Kyle Abbott and Summer Newman Abbott got a head start on playing house when they took on raising Kyle’s surprise son, Harrison Locke, on The Young and the Restless. Summer goes around calling Harrison her son, and Kyle refers to the two of them as Harrison’s parents. But should they get down to business and make a baby of their own?
Young and the Restless Polling
Of course, 58% of you cheer. What’s the point of being together if not to produce a physical embodiment of your love? And can you imagine what a power player this baby would be? Half Newman, half Abbott. Sure, Abby Newman Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) is one of those, too. But this kid’s grandfathers would be Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Imagine the competition! They’d be tripping over themselves to see who could spoil him or her more? And then when it came time to hand over the family company, there’d be a non-stop competition about which one would crown the heir apparent first. We’re sure this won’t make them an unbearable spoiled brat in any way.
Y&R: What’s Your Hurry?
They’ve got plenty of time, 31% stall. Once you have a baby, you can’t have nearly as many hot and sexy love scenes. You can’t jet off to the tropics at a moment’s notice, and you have to worry about things like sleep training and elite preschool admissions. Then again, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Allison Lenier) already have a toddler, and it’s not stopping them from planning a tropical honeymoon, and is Harrison even in school? So maybe a baby won’t cramp this happy couple’s style at all?
Young and the Restless: Forget It
And then there are the 11% who know this pairing will implode – and explode – sooner rather than later, so why drag a child into the inevitable mess? Kyle’s last marriage barely lasted a year, and the first time they tried to tie the knot Summer ran off – only to return in a weirdly floppy hat. One of them will find a reason to bail before Harrison learns to read. Let’s have nothing to keep them tied together when they no longer want to be.
