Ashley Abbott, along with sister Traci Abbott, just celebrated 40 years on The Young and the Restless — on and off. She’s currently just a temporary visitor, popping in from France when something major happens in the family.
Young and the Restless Polling
You know, like her daughter becomes a mother, her daughter becomes a widow, her son-in-law comes back from the dead…or Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) needs somebody to talk to. Should Ashley (Eileen Davidson) make the move back full-time? The vote was the closest we’ve seen in years!
Part One in Genoa City
Roughly one-third of the audience, 34%, is open to the idea of Ashley coming home — but only if she has a good story to make it worthwhile. Being Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway), and Jack’s, and Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) talk-to isn’t a story. And it’s a waste of Davidson’s talents. How about another love interest? We haven’t seen her with anyone since that adorable Ravi basically disappeared. Ashley seems to take after her mother. She likes younger men. So give her one!
The Young and the Restless: Part Two
Another third, just over 33%, doesn’t have any conditions for Ashley’s return. Good story, bad story, no story, you don’t care. You just want her on your screen. The Abbott siblings are always better together than they are apart. Let’s see John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) kids become the power trio their dad always wanted them to be! And it’s not like any of her siblings have stories. And we still see them!
Part Three For Y&R
Finally, a sliver less 33% of you agree that it’s nice to see her pop in, but if there is nothing for her to do, then she shouldn’t be on-screen, taking up time from folks who actually do have a point. Let the young people dominate now, the way Ashley and her stories dominated when she was their same age. It’s the circle of life!
