After all the years Nicholas Newman spent announcing what a big, independent boy he is on The Young and the Restless, there he was on Monday, telling Sharon Rosales how he wishes he’d been more involved with the family company, as his presence would have stopped all the problems Victor Newman is currently having with his feuding children.

Then, he got a dig in at Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) as well. Does it sound like Nick (Joshua Morrow) is looking for a way back in? And is that the right choice for him? Here’s what voters had to say.

A little over half of you, 52%, are blocking the door to the executive suite with your bodies and shouting, “No, no, go back, save yourself!” Nick worked so hard to establish himself as not just another Victor (Eric Braeden) subsidiary, but a successful businessman who built an empire from just blood, sweat, tears, a dream…and so much family money. If he were to return to Newman, he’d lose all that progress he’s made. Not to mention prove Victor right. And the less we can do of that, the better.

What’s Victor offering, 29% of the audience can’t help but wonder? Because, you know, if the proposed job is good enough, then you could get on board with Nick tossing his principles out the window. It has to be more than money, though. It has to be something worth selling out for. It has to be Nick being put on a pedestal above Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Adam. He has to be declared Victor’s favorite child. Just like he always knew he was.

There should be nothing more important in Nick’s life than his family, 19% of the voters assert. He’s played his little game of independence, but now it’s time to grow up and step back under Victor’s thumb. It’s where he belongs.
