Jack Abbott and Victor Newman recently shared a drink on The Young and the Restless, where Victor gave Jack advice that Jack didn’t exactly ask for. Victor then wondered whether one of Jack’s biggest regrets in life was his feud with the great Victor Newman.
The Young and the Restless Polling
He seemed kind of disappointed when Jack had to break it that nah, that wasn’t it. Still, the pair were civil. There was no sniping, no insults, no one-upmanship. So how did that make viewers feel? What 2,000 voters told us:
Y&R: Happy Days Are Here Again
It’s fantastic, 75% of you cheer. These two have so much history together — hey, remember that time Victor (Eric Braeden) had Jack (Peter Bergman) kidnapped and replaced him with a lookalike who basically repeatedly raped Phyllis Summers and ultimately led to the end of Jack and Phyllis’s marriage? Yay! Good times! It’s nice to see Jack not being petty and taking offense at that. He’s showing his maturity.
The Young and the Restless: Growing Up
And isn’t it nice how Victor isn’t reminding Jack how every time they went head to head — whether it was in business or over women like Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) — Victor always won? That shows that he’s grown as a person, too, 18% of the audience cheers. Fighting was silly. Especially all those times Jack actually thought he might have a chance of winning.
Y&R: Are You Kidding Me?
If viewers can remember all the reasons why these two should be at each other’s throats, should they also, a measly 7% wonder. How can they just act like it’s all water under the bridge when they’ve both done some terrible, horrible things to each other? Is this early senility? Or just the calm before the storm? In any case, it does not feel right. And they should cut it out as soon as possible.
