Enough Is Enough: Should Y&R’s Lily Winters Dump Billy Abbott?

Has Billy absolutely ruined everything?

Lily Winters and Billy Abbott on Young and the Restless
 Comments

Is there a way in which Billy Abbott hasn’t yet let Lily Winters down on The Young and the Restless? He did it professionally, announcing that he was feeling unfulfilled and yeah, he understands that this is a critical time for her and the company he promised to help her run together, but, she doesn’t understand that Billy is feeling blah. And Billy’s feelings trump any concrete needs.

Young and the Restless: Second Wind

Billy (Jason Thompson) also let Lily (Christel Khalil) down on the personal front. Yes, we understand that he felt compelled to help out Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), but does that mean completely ignoring Lily? It’s one thing not to share about Chelsea’s mental trouble because it wasn’t his story to tell. It’s another to literally leave Lily alone at dinner so he could run over and have coffee with Chelsea.

Y&R: Harsh Truths

Billy was also quite offended when Lily suggested that Chelsea wasn’t his business. She was Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) and Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) business. They should be the ones helping her deal with her problems. And it certainly wasn’t Billy’s place to second guess them.

Chelsea isn’t even, technically, the mother of Billy’s son. Johnny Abbott’s (Paxton Mishkin) mother is Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). And we’re not even going to get into details about how Chelsea came to give birth to Billy’s son. Another reason why he should maybe be keeping his distance.

Lily Winters: Forget About It

If Billy keeps acting this way, would anyone blame Lily for cutting her losses? Lily has lots of experience with men who only think about themselves. Does the name Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) ring a bell? Cane jerked Lily around, cheated on her, and didn’t exactly offer his support when she really needed it.

Been there, done that, Lily. Now it’s time to move on and find a man who appreciates you. And doesn’t get bored when you feel the same way.
