Does Summer Newman Abbott Really Think Diane’s The Y&R Problem?

Summer Newman Abbott certainly seems to have turned on her mother-in-law, Diane Jenkins in recent days. For so long, she stayed staunchly neutral and tried hard to give Diane a chance since that’s what Kyle Abbott and Harrison Locke seemed to need.

However, now Summer (Allison Lanier) seems to have lost her patience with Diane (Susan Walters). After firing her mother and spending Christmas with Diane, Summer no longer has much nice to say about Kyle’s mom. Is this all part of a plan, or has Summer really lost that loving feeling for Diane?

Summer Newman Abbott Is Scheming With Kyle

Obviously, this whole sudden change of heart for Summer is part of the plan, 8% of you believe. After all, Kyle (Michael Mealor), Diane, and Jack (Peter Bergman) have gone to great lengths to make it seem like things are a certain way in order to fool Jeremy (James Hyde), and Summer’s recent about-face is all part of that.

Unsure What Young and the Restless is Doing

For 9% of you, nothing about this situation is clear. For months, Summer was staunchly beside Kyle, doing everything she could to help him have a relationship with his newly back-from-the-dead mother. Now, suddenly, she’s revealed she’s just been going along with him, and she can’t stand things with Diane. It’s a surprising change, and you’re not really sure what’s going on.

Summer Newman Abbott Is Always Herself

This is Summer, 83% of you remind. She tried to do what was best for Kyle and their son, but in the end, she’s still Summer. She simply couldn’t continue pretending all was okay, especially when it harmed her relationship with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).

Of course, she believes Diane is the problem…because, obviously, Diane is the problem. She simply cannot continue pretending as if she, Kyle, Diane, Jack, and Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) are all one big happy family — especially when that happy family excludes her mother.
