Déjà Vu: Are Sharon and Nick Inevitable on Young and the Restless?

Oh, well, Rey Rosales is dead on The Young and the Restless. Sharon Rosales assured us that his off-screen memorial service was lovely, Tessa Porter’s song was lovely, and Noah Newman’s photo montage was lovely.

Young and the Restless Polling

OK, time to sweep Rey off into the dustbin and look around for Sharon’s (Sharon Case) next love interest. Oh, look, who’s that over there? Is that Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow), Sharon’s multi-time husband? Is a Shick reunion inevitable?

Y&R: Should We Draw You a Picture?

Sure is looking that way, 44% of you shrug. As soon as Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) was declared dead — off-screen — Nick flew to Sharon’s side. Heck, he was the one who told her Rey was dead. And Sharon promptly rested her head on his manly, manly shoulder. They laughed, they cried. They haven’t kissed yet. But it’s not like that’s something they haven’t done before.

Short-Term Young and the Restless Lease

They’ll get together again, 36% of voters predict, and then they’ll break up again. This is what Nick and Sharon do. They’ll always be connected because of their kids, so they’ll always have a reason to be in each other’s orbit. Sometimes, that orbit will include sex. And then one of them will do something stupid. And they’ll part. Only to eventually start the cycle all over again.

Friends With Y&R History

At this point, 20% of the fans can’t imagine Nick and Sharon as anything but just friends. They’ve done the high-school sweethearts thing, the young parents thing, the old parents thing, the cheating on other people thing, and the cheating with each other thing.

The point is, they’ve done all the things, and found that no single thing works for them…except co-parenting. And friendship. Nick can support Sharon and Nick can help Sharon and Nick can console Sharon. But Nick should not reunite with Sharon. And vice-versa.
