It’s being set up as a clash of the titans on The Young and the Restless. Phyllis Summers has gotten herself hired by daughter Summer Newman Abbott…not at all because her arch-rival, and Summer’s mother-in-law, Kyle Abbott’s mom, Diane Jenkins, is already working there.
Young and the Restless Polling
Now it’s time for all of Genoa City to choose sides — Diane (Susan Walters) or Phyllis (Michelle Stafford)? But we’re more interested in what our audience thinks. We asked, and you answered.
Y&R Not Even Close
Of course, you’re rooting for Phyllis, a winning 70% insist. You’re afraid not to. This is the woman who, when she doesn’t get her way, aims to hit you with her car. Puts dead sea life in your bed. Hires jack-hammers to go off all day and all night outside of your window.
Phyllis isn’t someone you want to make an enemy of. Who cares if she’s right or wrong? She’s nuts. And there’s no point in aggravating her — if you value your life.
Young and the Restless Equal Rights
These are both terrible people, 24% of you sigh. They are terrible women, they’re terrible mothers, and, worst of all, they are both only ever out for Number One. They pretend this is about Precious Summer (Allison Lanier), Beloved Kyle (Michael Mealor), or Angelic Harrison (Kellen Enriquez). But we all know it’s just about getting the upper hand — and the bragging rights. Under those circumstances, we are very comfortable being Team…No One.
Let Her Have It
Only 6% of fans voted for Diane, mostly because you really need someone to bring Phyllis down a peg or two. She has been whipping from one side of Genoa City to the other, shrieking her drama and getting offended when not everyone instantly dropped what they were doing to accommodate her.
She’s been enabled by everyone from Summer to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Diane is the only one who can make her realize she is not the most important person in the world.
