The Young and the Restless viewers barely recalled — or just found out for the first time — that Jack Abbott has another son in addition to Kyle Abbott when they also learned that Keemo Volien…er, Keemo Abbott…er, Keemo Nguyen…er, Hal Nguyen…is dead.
The Young and the Restless Polling
But is he? Is he really? Because people tend to not stay dead when they die on our favorite soaps. What over 2,000 had to say about that:
Y&R: Soaps ‘R’ Us
Oh, please, it’s been several decades. Anything could have happened to him. Remember when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was dead? What about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)? He was thought dead too. The point is, Keemo could still pop up at any time, 43% of you predict. And you won’t be surprised when it happens.
The Young and the Restless: Time Line
Dead today, dead tomorrow doesn’t mean dead forever, a smaller 32% of the audience is happy to point out. We are all assuming that Keemo’s presumed death will lead to Jack bonding with Keemo’s daughter, Allie (Kelsey Wong). But that doesn’t mean that Keemo still won’t pop up down the line to demand to know why Jack (Peter Bergman) is turning his sweet baby girl into a brat of the Abbott persuasion. The last thing the world needs is another Kyle (Michael Mealor) or Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King).
Y&R: Better Off Dead
Keemo’s death has already given Jack more to do than he’s had in months. And it’s brought him and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) closer together. Add Allie to the mix, and 25% of fans that’s enough drama without Keemo. Jack can mourn, Phyllis can support, and Allie can act out. All of that works much better with Keemo truly dead. And not around to get between Jack and the latest woman in his life — like he did last time.
