On The Young and the Restless, April 13, Phyllis gets a much-needed wake-up call. She realized how much her victory cost her. Will she finally learn the errors of her ways?

Key Takeaways

  • Phyllis realizes that her children will never forgive her.
  • Daniel makes it clear that she can never be involved in his life as long as she continues her power play.
  • Her interaction with her son leaves her with a difficult decision.

Did Phyllis Finally Hit Rock Bottom?

Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Tessa (Cait Fairbank) discussed their plans for Barcelona at Crimson Lights. The mood immediately shifted when Phyllis (Michelle Stafford, who is happy to be part of Y&R’s 53-year legacy) entered the room. She asked her son what was going on with him and Tessa since she knew about their breakup.

But Daniel isn’t welcoming back his mom with open arms. He’s made his decision. Daniel reminded Phyllis that she has no business being in his life when she’s playing corporate games. Phyllis is shocked to learn that Daniel and Summer (Allison Lanier) still won’t forgive her.

Lauren (Tracey Bregman, who reunited with Jamie Lee Curtis) walked in as Daniel ordered his mom to give Newman Enterprises back to its rightful owners. Otherwise, they have nothing else to discuss in their lives. Phyllis was hit with a startling realization. Her kids will never forgive and forget unless she does right.

What Will Phyllis Do Next?

After Daniel left, Phyllis and Lauren had coffee. Phyllis admitted that Summer hasn’t answered her calls, and Daniel’s blocking her in real-time. While they forgave her for faking her own death, they won’t forgive her for corporate espionage.

But Phyllis defended her power play. She finally scored a victory, but her kids want to disown her because of it. She realized that if she didn’t give the company back to Victor (Eric Braeden, who shared a health update), they would never speak to her again.

Lauren wondered if it was already too late. What if Phyllis gave the company back, but her kids still couldn’t forgive her? Was it all for nothing?

Doing it For the Kids

Phyllis claims that she’s doing this for her children. She wants to secure their future. But this isn’t what they wanted. Daniel doesn’t want anything to do with corporate politics. He just wants to make music and hopefully reconcile with Tessa.

As for Summer, she’s always going to choose her grandfather over her mother. She sees this move as a betrayal. If Phyllis truly cares about her kids, she should do the right thing.
