They say you can learn a lot about a person by where he chooses to live. Now, fans of Corbin Bernsen, who plays Father Todd on The Young and the Restless (YR), can not only peek into where he currently resides but also in all of his past homes too!
Bernsen (the son of the late Jeanne Cooper, ex-Katherine) and his wife, Amanda Pays (The Flash), have produced Open House, a book that brings readers into their homes. Accompanying essays and text reveal what each abode has meant to the couple and offers tips on how to make your own house a home.
Homecoming
The full title of the tome is Open House – Reinventing Space for Simple Living.
“The book is about the journey that Corbin and I have taken as a couple and as a family,” Pays tells Soap Hub.
“I don’t know many people who have lived in as many homes as we have,” Bernsen says. “We had enough material to put into a book. This is our story, and these are our houses.”
Doing It Yourself
Open House is a true family effort. On her acknowledgements page, Pays thanks her and Bernsen’s son Oliver “for understanding my vision and taking the lead in the design, art direction and editing.”
In addition to DIY (Do It Yourself) tips and style ideas, the book contains numerous photos of all the homes in which Bernsen, Pays, and their sons have lived. They used a combination of personal photos and ones that had been taken professionally for various “at home” features in magazines over the years.
“People have already emailed to thank us for the decorating ideas,” says Pays.
The couple’s currently on a nationwide book tour to promote Open House. To see if they’re coming to a city near you, check out their website CorbinAndAmanda.com
