Every other day on The Young and the Restless, we get a new story about what Ashland Locke has done wrong – and why it’s really not so bad. He’s still a great guy whom Victoria Newman Locke absolutely should stay married to, right?

The Young and the Restless: Sinful Past

Rather than losing track of his sins, we’ve decided to rank them (perhaps Victoria should have done something similar when she was deciding whether or not to marry him). Almost 2,000 fans voted on when he did his worst:

Fortune Hunter

Camilla Rhodes took Ashland (Richard Burgi) under her wing and mentored him. He paid her back by stealing her fortune once she was dead. Not cool, man, say 40% of you. Then again, did he really hurt her, or the people who also wanted that money? Either way, he’s a thief.

Lying Liars Who Lie on The Young and the Restless

Ashland should have been straight with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) from the start. Why did she have to learn abut his past in dribs and drabs, especially under pressure from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow)? According to 30% of the audience, lying to the woman you’re supposed to love, honor, and cherish is the biggest sin of all!

Identity Thief

Lying doesn’t come close to watching your best friend burn to death and stealing his identity, 25% beg to differ. Even if the former Bobby didn’t kill the original Ashland, even if every word that he said about the accident were true, he still doesn’t come out of it smelling like a rose. What about the real Ashland’s family? Do they wonder where their son went?

Bad Dad

Finally, only 5% of voters are judging Ashland for sending his son off to another country with virtual strangers at the same time that Harrison’s mother was dragged off to jail. Ashland did it to protect the little boy from seeing Ashland get sicker and sicker. This is the one time he actually wasn’t being selfish – or lying. (We think. That terminal daignosis has always seemed awfully convenient – and fishy.)
