It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially if your local stores are to be believed. Come early next month, beloved Young and the Restless star Judith Chapman will be bringing some of that festive cheer to the Palm Springs area.
The actress who portrays Gloria Fisher on Y&R will serve as the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s 2023 celebrity tree lighter at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Says Chapman of the December 3 ceremony, “In these trying times, what a holiday blessing it will be for us all to come together in peace and harmony to share the shining light on our beautiful mountain. Peace on Earth and goodwill to all.”
The lighting of the 45-foot tree (adorned with more than 4,000 LED lights) will follow a performance of several seasonal favorites by the Palm Springs High School Choir. Patrick Evans, KESQ’s morning and noon meteorologist and host of the network’s Eye on the Desert, will emcee the proceedings.
In addition to her varied roles on several daytime dramas — including Ryan’s Hope, General Hospital, and Days of our Lives — Chapman is known for appearing on both stage and screen as well as a plethora of primetime TV programs.
Look for the much-missed performer to reprise her Y&R alter-ego alongside Greg Rikaart’s Kevin Fisher later this month, just in time for Thanksgiving.
