Camryn Grimes and her fiancé, Brock Powell, recently welcomed their first child, Bridger Elias. (Get the details on that here.) Now that she’s had a few weeks to adjust to new motherhood, she’s offered a sweet update on how things have been going for her.
Camryn Grimes On Being A Mom
The actress, who portrays Mariah Copeland (also a new mom) on Y&R, recently shared an Instagram story with things she’s realized since becoming a mom. Part observation and part advice, the update hit all the right notes and was so undeniably Grimes.
Atop a beautiful photo of herself and her newborn, Grimes wrote, “Submit to ordering food. Get your mealtrain set before birth. You’re not going to cook you stupid b*tch (me).”
Another gem was, “Use short drives to Target to either sit in total silence and feel the wind on your face OR cram in every single catch-up phone call you can. There is no in-between.
The new mom also made this solemn vow that many mothers can identify with. “I want to pop baby pimples very bad. I will not.”
She also had some perspective on all the advice new parents get bombarded with after having a child. “The cumulative advice/tips from the Internet/everyone around you are 50% helpful, 50% unhelpful. After a bit you just realize you need to listen to you, your body and your baby: breathing gets easier after that.
“It’s crazy how quickly you become aware of how fast time is moving,” continued Grimes. “I don’t want the next phase, I want time to stop, but I also want to hear his voice and teach him to swim and laugh with him. It’s confusing.”
The new mom also recently celebrated her birthday (read about it here), and she shared a new photo of herself and Bridger (which you can see below) expressing her thanks for all the happy wishes. In it, she declared her goals for this year, and her big one was quite simple.
“New year, new me, new mom, new born. Thank you all for both of our birthday well wishes, let’s crush this next year!…and by crush I mean keep this tiny human alive and anything else is confetti.”
