Y&R Stars Kelsey Wang & Allison Lanier Tease Star-Crossed Lovers, Friendship

The Young and the Restless stars Kelsey Wang and Allison Lanier spoke a bit about their on-screen alter egos during their time on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys.

Kelsey Wang & Allison Lanier Tease Double Date

Soap Hub’s Michael Maloney spoke with the Allie Nguyen and Summer Newman Abbott actresses last Friday night on the red carpet. The Y&R newcomers enjoyed their first trip to the event. They revealed that they arrived together, so both Wang and Lanier ended up walking the carpet together, too.

During the event, they discussed a bit about their characters. Wang set up some of the very near future for Allie. “There’s a blossoming relationship with Noah [Newman, Rory Gibson],” she said. “A lot is going to come very soon, and I think the viewers will be very happy.”

Of course, there’s no denying the history between the Newman and Abbott families, and it’s unlikely that Noah and Allie can fully escape that star-crossed lovers dynamic unscathed. But, that doesn’t mean that Noah and Allie can’t be friends with Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Perhaps the foursome might even go on a double date sometime. Wang teased, “maybe there’s a scene.”

“You might see the four of us in a scene soon, perhaps,” Lanier chimed in. It could get very interesting, especially considering that Kyle and Summer have also navigated the perils of combining the Newman and Abbott families.

Is Allie Really An Abbott?

Of course, for Allie and Noah to experience a true Romeo and Juliet-esque situation, Allie has to really be an Abbott. Kelsey Wang teased that there are “definitely a few secrets with Allie,” and she said she thinks Allie’s mom may appear in Genoa City soon.

The good news, though, is that it does sound like Allie is really an Abbott. “I don’t think it’s anything like [that], I’m not trying to rip off the Abbotts. Once and for all, I’m not trying to scam them. I don’t think it’s anything like that.”
