The Young and the Restless star Melissa Ordway marked a significant family milestone recently. The Abby Chancellor actress put together a big party to make the most of the celebration.
Ordway took to social media to share the details of her oldest daughter, Olivia’s, “Gotcha Day,” which the family calls “Coronation Day.” This year marks an extra special milestone moment in that it’s been five years since Olivia’s adoption became official with the State of California.
The actress shared a post with three pictures. The first was a photo of their family, which includes her, husband Justin Gaston (ex Chance), Olivia Christine Gaston, and Sophie Jolie Gaston. The second featured Olivia kissing Melissa Ordway on the cheek, and the third was a posed moment for the actress and her oldest daughter.
Ordway wrote alongside the images, “2/27/17 was a very special day in our house. It was the day the state of California made our adoption official. Olivia’s ‘Gotcha Day’. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about what a ‘Coronation Day’ is. It’s the name we have given this special day. A day that the courts made what had always been God’s plan official.
“Olivia, I am so blessed to be your mom,” she continued. “I thank God every day that He picked me. You are so special and so loved. You have the kindest heart and you inspire me daily. ‘Not flesh of my flesh,Nor bone of my bone, but still miraculously my own. Never forget for a single minute; you didn’t grow under my heart but in it.’ I love you to infinity and beyond. My baby girl. My dream come true.”
A second post features a video with clips and stills from the great party Olivia had to mark the special occasion.
“‘ITS CORONATION DAY!’ Olivia felt so loved and surrounded by so many sweet friends today! Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us today. And to everyone who sent their love,” Melissa Ordway wrote.
