The Young and the Restless fans may be surprised to hear that fan-favorite Eric Braeden recently underwent surgery to repair a problem with his knee. The star, who portrays the iconic Victor Newman, gave viewers an update about the situation.
Eric Braeden Looking Good After Surgery
Braeden took to both Twitter and Facebook to share his knee surgery news. The actor appeared to be in good spirits amid his recovery. While he shared the same photo of himself standing beside a hospital bed using a walker with a triumphant fist in the air, his message was slightly different on each platform.
On Twitter, he wrote, “After knee replacement! Thinking of you all! ❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪”
His Facebook message read, “I guess it was time to replace my knee! 💪🏼👍🏼”
Fans had plenty of well-wishes, and those who have been there offered some advice. “Keep moving. Friends who have had the surgery said that the more you move, there will be less scarring and better healing. Hope all goes well.”
“Well, you know me a little; I never stop moving! They told me not to do too much!!🤣” replied Eric Braeden. It has been well known over the years how the legendary star stays fit with boxing.
Later, after one Twitter user noted that doctors advised her to get her knee replaced in five years, Braeden gave a bit more insight into what happened with his knee, replying, “Then do it! They actually found holes in mine!!”
In another reply to a fan who admitted to holding off on having a knee replacement surgery, the actor wrote, “Yes, I have heard the same! In my case, it was really getting bad, and [the] surgeon said years of impact had degenerated to the point of holes in the knee!”
It sounds like he really needed the knee replacement, and it looks like Braeden is already on his road to recovery. We wish him quick healing and look forward to seeing him back on Y&R as soon as he’s able. There’s no word from Y&R on how or if Braeden’s surgery will affect screen-time for Victor Newman. Traditionally, shows take a holiday break so Braeden has some extra time for recovery and therapy.
