The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden sent a message straight to Russia’s Vladimir Putin. The Victor Newman actor is no stranger to war, having escaped from Germany during World War II.
Eric Braeden Sends Vladimir Putin A Message
Braeden took to his social media to speak directly to Putin, who invaded neighboring Ukraine and is continuing to fight a war with the border country, drawing many comparisons to the beginning of World War II.
“Vladimir, you, like all other dictators, will meet a dreadful end! You may have studied some history, but obviously not the history of autocrats! It ain’t pretty! All your riches will mean nothing and won’t save you! It’s like one of the worst among you, Hitler, attacking,” tweeted Braeden.
“Innocent Poland only to later break the RIBBENTROP/ MOLOTOV nonaggression treaty and attack your country & cause untold damage! Why? He had delusions of grandeur of omnipotence, of racial superiority! Just remember how he died!!” he continued.
The actor’s fans appeared to appreciate his sentiments toward the Russian ruler. “I enjoy Victor Newman righteously excoriating Vladimir Putin,” one follower replied, and Eric Braeden responded with a high-five emoji.
In all so far, dozens of Twitter accounts retweeted the actor’s words with hundreds also hitting the like button. Fans of Y&R are used to watching Braeden’s on-screen alter ego, The Great Victor Newman, get incredibly tough with his adversaries. These same viewers often appreciate his no-nonsense approach to real-life bad guys on Twitter and Facebook. One thing is sure, Braeden is not afraid to speak out on issues that matter to him.
