Eileen Davidson has been involved with more than a few social issues storylines on Young and the Restless, including breast cancer, AIDS, and abortion. Now, the actress is speaking out on the fentanyl crisis, which affects many families worldwide.
Davidson shared a video on her official Instagram account, writing, “In honor of National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, I encourage everyone to have a conversation with their loved ones. I’m proud to support Mothers Against Prescription Drug Abuse. Take the Pledge to help save lives at mapda.net/take-the-pledge or visit my #linkinbio.”
In the video, she said, “The greatest gift you can give your loved one is a conversation. As a friend of Mothers Against Prescription Drug Abuse. I want to encourage you to have open and honest conversations with your loved ones — especially your children, about drug awareness. It’ll help empower them so they can make smart choices, resist peer pressure, and have healthier drug-free lives. Talk to your loved ones. It truly is the greatest gift.”
Y&R’s sister soap, Bold and the Beautiful, addressed drug abuse with Steffy Forrester after she became hooked on pain pills following a motorcycle accident.
Several of Davidson’s followers commented with their own stories on her Instagram post. “THANK YOU for this,” wrote @the.archangelgabriel. “I am a person in recovery from drug addiction and have lost too many friends to Fentanyl overdose. Thank you for spending the word. So needed and important.”

I have these open conversations with my 16 and 14-year-olds, and they LOVE it! They’d rather hear about these life realities from their parents (according to my kids 😂) because they know it’s coming from people who truly care about their health and well-being!
