Fans of The Young and the Restless are used to seeing certain staples on the show such as the Abbott living room and Crimson Lights. Another is the office portrait of Victor Newman but now, that’s been replaced by a painting of his daughter Victoria, played by Amelia Heinle.
Last month, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), gifted his now wife Victoria (Amelia Heinle) with a portrait. He felt that she should have one in the place of honor in her office. Victoria noted that Victor’s (Eric Braeden) painting was now in the boardroom in a place of honor.
How does Heinle feel about having her character’s image hanging in the Newman executive office where Victoria’s dad’s once was. “It cracks me up but I kind of love it,” the actress tells Soap Hub. “It’s so funny to see my picture there. I can’t believe it. Eric had his up there for so many years.”
Amelia Heinle says she was curious about how viewers would react to the change. “I thought the fans would not be happy about it because that’s sacred Y&R territory,” she says. It was actually Victor’s ex-wife Diane (Alex Donnelley), much to Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott), who gifted Victor with his portrait. After Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) briefly ensconced himself in Victor’s office he had a painting of himself and his business partner Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) replace Victor’s image.
After Victor took the reins of his company back, he demolished Jack’s painting informing his rival that he will crush him! Will Victor’s portrait return to its original place? Time will tell.
