While we’re still heartbroken that Loren Lott is no longer portraying Devon Hamilton’s younger sister Ana Hamilton on The Young and the Restless, we nearly jumped for joy when we heard her latest good news about her primetime project, The Porter.
Loren Lott Announces U.S. Premiere For The Porter
Lott took to Instagram to share the good news about her Canadian series. The former Ana actress shared a montage of herself on the show, which was set to Mars Bars Drift Away Omnichord.
“Ahh guys!!” read her caption. “The Porter has finally made [its] way to America!! May 5th on BET+ 💙 u can’t wait for you all to meet me as Lucy Conrad. BET plus has never had a show like this so I really hope you guys love it and support it.”
In the show, which is set in the 1920s, Loren Lott portrays the character Lucy Conrad, who is a performer. The series follows the story of the Black Canadian and African American men who worked as Pullman porters following the first World War. Ultimately, these porters created the first Black-led labor union called the Brotherhood of the Sleeping Car Porters in 1925. The Porter premiered on Canada’s CBC Television on February 21, 2022, and now fans who live in the U.S. will have the chance to check it out on the small screen.
You can find the show on BET+ in the U.S. The video-on-demand service is run by Tyler Perry Studios and the BET Networks unit of Paramount Media Networks, which is a division of Paramount Global. You can get a free trial for the service if you’re interested in watching Loren Lott or any other original series it offers.
