Victor Newman remains undefeated on The Young and the Restless. Some of his enemies have wondered how they could take him down. What they don’t know is that he has a hidden weakness that could easily destroy his ego.

Key Takeaways

  • Victor is undefeatable in Genoa City.
  • To attack Victor, you would have to know his weakness.
  • It’s not about fighting him, it’s about seeing him as irrelevant.
  • Victor constantly wants to be seen as a powerful protector.

Victor Newman is Now a Fixer

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) can now fix every problem on The Young and the Restless. He took down Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) with an AI program that drained his business of money.

And now, Victor plans to use it on Jack (Peter Bergman). Victor proved that he’s undefeatable and can solve any problem that his children and grandchildren face.

Victor has proven himself to be invincible for years. He never needed AI. The Mustache was always ten steps ahead of everyone else.

However, that now makes him even more powerful. What his enemies don’t know is that he has a hidden weak spot. His enemies fail to expose this vulnerability because they are too focused on striking where they think it’ll hurt—his wealth and enterprises.

But for Victor, it’s not about money or prestige. He may make it seem like it’s all that he cares about. But at the end of the day, he wants to be seen as useful to his loved ones and powerful to his enemies.

Inside Victor’s Secret Flaw

Victor’s weakness is to be seen as the savior of his family. He enjoys being the fixer, even though he loves using Michael (Christian LeBlanc). Victor wants his family to rely on him for everything.

It’s the reason why he meddles in his children’s (and grandchildren’s) love lives. He bribed Sienna (Tamara Braun) to stay away from Noah (Lucas Adams) because he doesn’t trust her.

As usual, he thinks he knows what’s best for Noah. This is similar to the situation with Claire (Hayley Erin) and Kyle (Michael Mealor). Victor bribed Audra (Zuleyka Silver) to pry the younger lovers apart, but it looks like nothing will keep these two apart for long.

Victor justifies his actions as a way to protect his loved ones. He feeds off the high that he’s the only one who can save them. To destroy Victor Newman, his enemies need to change that narrative.

The only way to take him down is with indifference. Victor can’t control people who don’t care about him. Jack’s Jabot shutdown was a mistake, and so is engaging in his long-standing feud with Victor.

In Victor’s mind, this proves that he’s still a viable threat. If his enemies ignore him, then they would deem him irrelevant, which is what he really fears. Even his family is better off without him “saving” them.
