With productions shut down for several months during this coronavirus pandemic, it’s given many a chance to reflect about life and that’s been the case for former The Young and the Restless star, Loren Lott as well. The actress recently shared her thoughts about her hope for people — and it’s a beautiful sentiment everyone should follow.
Loren Lott On Appreciating Yourself
The stunning star who played Devon’s younger sister, Ana Hamilton, on the CBS soap has faced unkind words in the past but she doesn’t let those people affect how she views herself. She wants others to do the same and recently shared these thoughts on Instagram.
“Behind the scenes📷 👑 Dark gums, dark eyes, dark extremely textured hair, and my skin kissed by the sun getting darker by the second. All my life I was told all of these things make me less attractive. DARK things,” she revealed. She could have taken it to heart — but she shares she wasn’t letting anyone change the truth she already knew.
“I never prayed that God would fix them, I prayed for the hearts of the people who couldn’t appreciate the features God hand selected for me, and I prayed that I only end up with people who can see that this is art. I never wished to be lighter. Never minded my coils, I only wanted it looser because I’m beyond tender headed and cried through the pain of protective styles.
“I only wanted pinker gums so I could make it without getting teased anymore. But there was never any self hate over huurr. And when it gets hot I LOVE my darker summer color and working on my blue black while others work on their tan,” she said. The actress then opened up about her wish for others.
“I pray today God reveals a love for something in you that the world told you wasn’t enough. I promise it is, and if you keep believing it people will ALWAYS catch on. Now moisturize them knuckles, stay prayed up, and have a great day 💁🏾♀️👑💙💚” The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
