The Young and the Restless Star Melissa Claire Egan’s Mistaken Identity

The Young and the Restless character Chelsea Lawson has worn disguises and probably used a few aliases during her con artist years. Her portrayer, Melissa Claire Egan, recently discovered she has a double out there on social media — well, sort of.

A woman named Melissa Egan recently shared on Twitter that YR fans have been sending her messages about Chelsea’s story on the CBS soap opera. “Will you ever be normal again?” asked one YR fan. Later, the Chelsea-fan added: “At least you talking normal to Chloe on today’s episode – but still in that wheelchair. GET UP GET ON UP and SHAKE THAT MONEYMAKER!”

“Friendly reminder I am neither @MClaireEgan nor her character on @YandR_CBS … but I am INTRIGUED,” playfully posted Melissa Egan on Twitter.

“Lol! Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry!” Melissa Claire Egan replied. “Yes, different Melissa Egan guys!! (I did send you my cable bill tho Melissa).”

“It’s all in good fun!” replied Melissa Egan. “I’ve gotten a few emails over the years, too. You have some dedicated viewers & fans! PS – That cable bill better not have premium add-ons.”

Chelsea Has Everyone Bamboozled

Currently, Chelsea, who suffered a stroke, has regained some of her mobility. However, she’s keeping that news a secret from everyone but her pal Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson).

So, Chelsea is poised to pull off her biggest con ever! If she regains her full mobility, she’ll be able to do all kinds of things while most everyone believes she’s still confined to her wheelchair. But she’ll have to pull the wool over a lot of eyes to pull off her scheme.

In addition to keeping Adam (Mark Grossman) fooled, she’s going to have to keep Dr. Cavett (Dana Sparks) at bay (or possibly enlist her help if she can find some leverage).
