The Young and the Restless Alum Thad Luckinbill Celebrated His Birthday

JT Hellstrom was mentioned a while ago on The Young and the Restless when Elena considered bringing Victoria’s ex back into the picture. In real life, his portrayer, Thad Luckinbill, remains as busy as ever, thanks to his thriving production company. But, hopefully, he has some free time to celebrate a personal milestone.

That’s because he was born on April 24, 1975, in Enid, Oklahoma, which means that this talented multi-hyphen turned 49 years old! Luckinbill’s acting career began in 1999 when he joined the cast of MTV’s Undressed in the recurring role of Kyle.

Soon afterward, he was selected to play JT Hellstrom on the daytime drama Y&R. His character really took off when he was paired with young Colleen Carlton — the daughter of Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Brad Carlton (Don Diamont). After that ended, JT eventually found love with Victoria Newman.

Luckinbill, who married the actress who brings Victoria to life — Amelia Heinle — remained with the show until 2010. He made a one-episode return in November 2010 and agreed to a much longer reprisal that lasted between December 12, 2017, to April 13, 2018.

Among his other credits are guest appearances on primetime programs such as Nash Bridges, The Division, JAG, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI, Nip/Tuck, and Grey’s Anatomy. He has also had roles in feature films like Just Married and Sleepover and shorts, including 5 Stages of Grief and The Shadow Effect.

In 2013, Luckinbill co-founded a production company, Black Label Media, alongside his identical twin, Trent, and well-known producer Molly Smith. Films produced through the enterprise include Sicario, The Good Lie, and the multi-Oscar-winning film La La Land.
