The Young and the Restless Star Brytni Sarpy Celebrates Her Birthday

Life hasn’t been easy for The Young and the Restless’ Elena, but since she’s thrown Nate Hastings to the curb and her career is really taking off, she’s doing her best to move forward. Luckily, the universe is kinder to Elena’s portrayer, Brytni Sarpy, who has a very special milestone to celebrate.

And that’s because she was born on September 21, 1987, in Southern California, which means that this talented actress is turning 36 years old today! Upon receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of California Santa Barbara, Sarpy began hitting the audition circuit.

To support herself, she took several day jobs — including bartender and personal trainer — and eventually landed work as an athletic print model. Sarpy found frequent employment in theater circles, where she earned praise for both her comedic timing and her dramatic range.

Among the many shows she participated in are Much Ado About Nothing (Hero) and Tome and The Conways (Joan Helford). Sarpy made her film debut in the 2009 picture Awkward Courage (Love Interest), and a year later, she obtained a starring role in the comedy You Again.

The year 2014 featured Sarpy’s first TV appearance — a small role in the pilot episode of Lifetime’s My Crazy Ex. The following year, she joined the cast of General Hospital in the role of police detective Valerie Spencer.

Sarpy remained in the role until March 2019, at which point she began playing Elena Dawson on Y&R. Her other acting credits include episodes of New Girl (Babs), The Have and the Have Nots, and the film Truth or Dare (Maddie Sotarez).
