Elena walked in on Amanda telling Devon that she is Hilary’s twin on The Young and the Restless. She also walked in on Devon telling Amanda that he still loved Hilary. On the one hand, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) finally dropped her perfect girl who saves orphans persona and actually showed some spirited personality for a change. That was awesome.

On the other hand, she managed to make one of the hugest moments in Amanda’s (Mishael Morgan) life and a huge shock for Devon (Bryton James) — all about her. That was less than awesome. Does Elena have a good reason to be jealous of this plot twist?

Of course, Elena has good reason to be jealous, 59% of the audience can’t even believe we’re asking such a stupid question. From the beginning, Elena has known that Devon thought his late wife was the most wonderful, the most noble, the most generous, and the most loving woman who ever lived. (Anyone who watched the show then knows Devon is painfully deluded, but he’s not asking us for our opinion.)

And now here, standing right in front of him, is Hilary’s twin? What man could resist that? Sure, previously, Amanda looked exactly like Hilary. But now they share DNA! Guys totally dig DNA!
Nothing Doing
A smaller, 41% of the viewers think Elena is blowing this all out of proportion. Hilary is still dead. Amanda is still the same person she was last week. Devon shouldn’t feel any differently about her now, and he shouldn’t feel any differently about Elena. So he said he will always love Hilary. Elena knew that already.
On the other hand, her whiny behavior is exactly the sort of thing that could make Devon recall, “Hilary was never whiny.” (This part is true.) “I wonder if Amanda is less whiny than Elena?” The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
