The Young and the Restless star Kate Linder is once again combining her passion for giving back with a deeply personal cause. On Sunday, August 17, Linder will host An Afternoon of Art to benefit the ALS Network, celebrating the work of her late mother, California artist Molly Wolveck, while raising critical funds for ALS research and care.

An Afternoon of Art, Heart, and Hope

The charity event, held at the 9176 Gallery in West Hollywood from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, offers the perfect follow-up for fans who are attending the Y&R fan gathering the day before. It promises a meaningful and inspiring afternoon filled with art, community, and purpose.

A Personal Mission to Fight ALS

Linder, who has portrayed Esther Valentine on Y&R for over four decades, became a spokesperson and ambassador for the ALS Network in 2004 after her brother-in-law, Scott Buzzell, was diagnosed with ALS. Since then, she and her late husband, Dr. Ron Linder—alongside their families—have been unwavering in their commitment to helping fund research, raise awareness, and advocate for a cure.

After a successful first fundraiser last winter, Linder is now donating even more of her mother’s artwork to continue that mission. She’s also joined this time by Craig Byrd and Roy Oldenkamp, who are generously contributing art from their own private collections to further support the cause.

Honoring Molly Wolveck’s Art and Advocacy

Molly Wolveck’s art will once again take center stage—not just to be admired but to serve a greater purpose. Every piece on display will be available for purchase, with 100% of the proceeds going to the ALS Network. Southern California developer Faring is generously providing the gallery space, and additional donations can be made via www.TeamKateLinder.org.

“I’m thrilled that my mom’s artwork will once again be able to help people with ALS through the ALS Network,” said Linder. “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there for a wonderful afternoon filled with amazing art… so that we can make even more progress towards finding a cure for ALS.”
