The wedding of the year is approaching on The Young and the Restless. Sally and Billy are set to tie the knot, and fans have gotten a preview of the couple’s attire. Sally’s wedding dress was the creation of the show’s costume designer, Mandi Line, who faced a few challenges.

Key Takeaways

  • Sally and Billy’s wedding is set to begin on Oct. 16.
  • The couple is having a Great Gatsby style wedding.
  • Line worked with Courtney Hope to create Sally’s dress.

Mandi Line’s Inspiration For Sally’s Wedding Dress

It’s the moment Silly fans have been waiting for. Sally (Courtney Hope) and Billy’s (Jason Thompson) wedding kicks off Friday, Oct. 16, in what will be a lavish affair.

For the big day, costume designer Line and her team worked hard to create Great Gatsby style attire. When it came to Sally’s dress, that ended up being a bit of a challenge.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Line revealed she had to make the dress from scratch. The dress was made of four different layers, and half of the lace pieces were hand-cut and sewn by Line herself.

But one of the biggest challenges was making a dress to fit Sally’s pregnant body. “She had four different bellies,” Line joked.

Despite the hard work, Line’s efforts paid off with a gorgeous long-sleeved, lace gown. Line couldn’t have done it without help from Hope, who offered her feedback. “We both agreed that it needed to be unique: a modern silhouette in a vintage fabric, with a soft, feminine edge, just like Sally Spectra.”

Genoa City Elite Gather For Sally and Billy’s Wedding

Sally and Billy’s nuptials will include a who’s who of Genoa City elite. Of course, the whole Abbott family will be on hand, with Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) serving as best men. Meanwhile, Coco (Ashley Campbell), Audra (Zuleyka Silver), and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will be Sally’s bridesmaids.

The men look handsome in their suits, and the women bring out their best flapper dresses for the big occasion. But all eyes will be on Sally as she makes her way down the aisle.

There will be plenty of smiles as the couple stands at the altar, ready to exchange vows. But that joy could disappear with some unexpected drama.

There are many things and people that could disrupt the ceremony. Jill (Jess Walton), Adam (Mark Grossman), and even Patty (Stacy Haiduk) are the top candidates to put a halt to the big day. Fans will have to wait and see if any disaster comes to the couple’s wedding.
