Drinking water is a healthy thing to do but Courtney Hope, who plays Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless, has found water can serve an additional benefit. Soap Hub perused the fan favorite’s Instagram account to learn just how much she benefits from immersing herself in seawater.
Courtney Hope Combines Water and Meditation
Sally Spectra was figuratively all wet after it came to light that she had orchestrated getting Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) out of Genoa City by getting her a dream job in Italy. However, Hope encountered newfound serenity after literally going diving into bodies of water.
“This is where I felt like I was today in my meditation,” Hope shared in an Instagram post that showed her submerged in water wearing flippers and a mask. “That peaceful silence of the water around me where all worry washes away. Boundless possibility, being able to see the nuances of life more clearly. I wish I could swim in the ocean like this every day, but until that day comes again I will just close my eyes and drift deep into a trance of connectedness.
Fire and Water
“Side note: one thing I’ve noticed about myself as I’ve gotten older is as a FIRE sign when I feel like my flame gets too intense (from stress, anxiety, over-thinking, etc.) being in the water is sometimes the only thing that fully brings me back down quickly,” Courtney Hope points out. “It’s almost eerie how quickly my mind clears and water. I don’t have to be in it long, just enough so that it tempers the flame to something more calming and controlled.
“Many of my meditations are standing under a waterfall and having the water flow through every ounce of my being as if I am transparent,” Hope says. “I never was a big water person, until I realized this essential need for me. Now every morning, first thing I do is shower. To wash off the energy, and bring me to a neutral place to start my day.”
Courtney Hope Poses a Question
Last summer, Hope was featured in Soap Hub’s Wellness Wednesday as she talked about keeping a balance between staying active and not overdoing things in order to maintain good health. More recently, her posts have stressed the importance of water. “Choose wisely where you spend your energy,” the actress wrote. “Are you watering your past or your future?”
