Shemar Moore and Kristoff St. John shared a special bond. Recently, The Young and the Restless star, Moore, stopped by The Talk. He revealed what the late actor told him when he first got hired on the soap.
Reaction To A Scene
In a recent episode of The Talk, Moore reflected on his acting career. He got his start on soaps. Moore booked a gig as Malcolm Winters on Y&R. Producers played a flashback to one of his first scenes on the daytime soap.
Moore hasn’t aged a day. He got sentimental as he saw his younger self acting alongside St. John. Moore remembers that day very well. He revealed that he was hired on April 6, 1994.
Moore got emotional as he saw St. John on the screen as Neil Winters. At first, he said, “Rest in peace, brother.” He then explained that he felt so nervous about his first day. The S.W.A.T. star thought he was going to mess it up and lose his acting gig. The words that St. John told him weren’t the type that he would’ve told his younger self.
“He said, ‘You’re scared. You’re nervous. You’re green, but you got heart, and you got raw talent,” Moore said.
The Talk shared that cut from Moore’s interview on the official Instagram page. Soap fans took to the comment section to share their thoughts. Most of them praised both actors.
“He has evolved through so many roles. He is amazing. 👏👏👏👏,” one user commented about Moore.
“[Shemar Moore] I love this so much. Both you and [Kristoff St. John] were my favs [sic] on that show. I love those Winters brothers. RIP Kristoff,” another user wrote.
A third fan summed it up as “So powerful!!!” Those are all words that we can live by, no matter our profession. St. John continues to inspire fans long after his death. (Get the details on the documentary about the late Y&R star.)
