Sharon Case and Joshua Morrow are one of The Young and the Restless‘s longtime supercouples. Their characters, Sharon Rosales and Nick Newman, have been paired together on and off over the years but are currently living separate lives. Is it time for that to change?

Sharon Case: Shick 2024

The year 2023 was, professionally, a pretty fantastic one for Case. Not only did she receive a Daytime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress for her Y&R role but her storyline picked up with the return of Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby). (Refresh your memory of that dramatic storyline here.) Finally, Sharon got out from behind the counter at Crimson Lights and got back into the thick of things!

According to TV Series Finale’s ratings, Y&R shot up during a key week of Cameron’s return and his reign of terror, which resulted in Sharon killing him to save her daughter, Faith (Reylynn Carter). “I recall seeing that happen,” Case says with a smile. “When Linden came back, we just jumped right back in like we hadn’t missed a beat…great friends, colleagues, and co-stars, they do that. That’s how that goes.”

Case’s 2022 Daytime Emmy reel contained scenes of Sharon dealing with the death of her husband Rey (Jordi Vilasuso). “All night had gone by and she hadn’t heard from him,” Case recalls. “It was written as if she just knows something is wrong. It’s some kind of sixth sense we all have. You’re hoping it’s wrong…it was crushing.”

She’s been a widow for over a year now. Is it time she moved forward with her life? Many have felt that Sharon and ex-husband Nick (Joshua Morrow) are a romantic endgame. (Take a look back at their first wedding here.)

“Well…someone asked us [about that] recently on stage,” Case says. “We’re getting that a lot. We don’t know [if it’s happening]. They tease it a lot. I was saying to Joshua that we do have a pattern of getting back together every six or seven years. It’s about that time if history were to repeat itself. I don’t know.”

A lot of fans would like to see that happen. “I would, too!” Case enthuses.
