Standing Up to Cancer
On Monday, October 21, Mishkind shared side-by-side shots of him with his mom. The first one showed her with a shaved head. The second shot showed the two during happier times. Mishkind concluded his post with a pink poster discussing Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The young soap actor shared an update with his fans. His mom recently underwent treatment and surgery. Thankfully, she’s doing much better and on her way to recovery. Mishkind wanted to use this opportunity to spread awareness about this frequent disease.
“We wanted to spread the word again this year: to know your risk, get screened, know your normal, make healthy choices, and take action!” Mishkind captioned the shot. “Please consider supporting cancer research through [Susan G Komen] so that treatments can keep advancing. PINK TOGETHER, STRONGER FOREVER!”
Mishkind’s message brought hope to fans. Unfortunately, cancer is common these days. It can affect one out of four people in their lifetime, according to Cancer.gov. In addition, breast cancer is one of the most common in the United States. Mishkind’s news hits close to home for many people.
