Young and the Restless Star Melissa Ordway Reveals What’s On The Other Side of the Camera

Melissa Ordway is used to being in front of the camera. When she plays Abby Newman, she must be camera-ready, while the crew has to be quiet on the set. However, that’s not the case when she’s filming videos at home. The Young and the Restless star gave fans a glimpse into her life outside the show. She shared what really goes on behind the cameras.

On Wednesday, October 16, Ordway shared a reel on her Instagram account. It was a behind-the-scenes glimpse into motherhood. She showed off her freshly chopped bob. Ordway also wore a white V-neck sweater with dainty gold necklaces. 

She looked nothing like her Y&R character. Ordway was in full-on mom mode. However, she revealed that she was trying to work from home. In her video, Ordway told her followers, “I want you to see the other side of the camera. Just to see what’s going on.”

The CBS star flipped the camera around to show what really happened at her house. In one shot, she showed her daughter, Olivia, shaking a bottle of vitamins in the air. In another shot, she played the piano.

She then told Olivia that she was “trying to work here.” Her daughter made a funny face and moved out of the shot. Ordway was trying to film an Instagram video for JS Health Vitamins, which is a big hit in their household. But it was hard to get any work done. 

“A little #BTS of me trying to get anything in my house… Moms (and dads), I’m sure you relate,” Ordway captioned the video. 

She included the hashtags “mom,” “working Mom,” “parents,” and “kids.” Ordway’s always working, even when she’s not filming scenes on Y&R.

Instagram Vs. Reality

Most fans loved the video. They were happy that Ordway showed what happens on the opposite side of the camera. Sometimes, what you see on Instagram isn’t what’s really going on in these star’s lives. 

One fan wrote, “Enjoy getting to see the Real You and your family!!! ❤️” Actress Candace Kirkpatrick joked, “Keeping it real! 😂” A third user commented, “I love your sweet little family. Love and laughter are the best ways to grow up!”

Other fans complimented Olivia’s piano-playing skills. Meanwhile, some are in love with Ordway’s new hairstyle. This suggests that Abby will make a big change on the show as she prepares for her upcoming wedding.
