Adam Newman can’t get a break on The Young and the Restless. The so-called black sheep of the family can never get the approval of his father, even when he tries. Mark Grossman thinks his character should stick it to Victor instead. And he has the perfect plan for that.
Father-Son Feud
Adam could never get along with his father. In his interview with Soaps.com, Grossman admitted Adam’s weakness. He still “wants to live up to the Victor Newman Jr. name.” Grossman doesn’t feel the same way.
He believes that Adam should stick it to Victor (Eric Braeden). He knows of the perfect way to make it happen. Grossman could see his alter ego becoming a business tycoon. He suggested that Adam should strike out independently and become even bigger than his father.
“I would love to do a storyline where Adam started his own business and was doing his own thing, and it was a big kind of middle finger to the family,” Grossman explained.
In this case, maybe Adam would start a tech company that puts Genoa City on the map. The soap star explained that he would love to see Adam work with Jack (Peter Bergman) on some level. He loves working with the legendary Y&R star.
“And I’ve always liked it when Adam works with Jack and how that sort of triggers Victor,” Grossman added.
He also shared that Bergman “brings out the best of everyone he works with.” He’s not the only one who feels this way. The fans would love to see Adam getting vengeance against his father. It’s been a long time coming.
It would only make sense for Jack to work with Adam. Victor has enjoyed working with his son Kyle (Michael Mealor) a little too much. It would be satisfying to see someone take Victor down, especially if it’s his own son.
