Fans thought The Young and the Restless’ Lauralee Bell hit a new high when she released a video of her castmates attempting to say “The Young and the Restless‘s thirteenth thousandth episode” without getting their tongues tied. But that hilarious video was just the tip of the iceberg. In a second video (of three), Bell takes characters from the show and puts them in another comedic situation to celebrate the upcoming 13,000th episode. That’s guaranteed to tickle the funny bones of fans everywhere.
A Cardioriffic Idea
The countdown is on as November 13 and the 13,000 episode of Y&R draws near. Bell has written, produced, directed, and taped another video, this time involving denizens of Genoa City — 13 days to the 13,000th!
In the video, her character, Christine, gets together with a few other characters for a fitness class at the Genoa City Athletic Club. The cardio class is comprised of Victoria (Amelia Heinle), Elena (Brytni Sarpy), Sally (Courtney Hope), Lauren (Tracey Bregman), and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), with a cameo by Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson). (Find out what else is returning for the 13,000th episode.)
The group will be doing their cardio routine to the tune of “Firework” by Katy Perry, who sang in a 2008 episode of the show. The leader of the cardio class is played by Jonathan DePaz who is an old school friend of Bell’s as well as being a fitness expert.
They Make Cardio Look Like a Dance Party in Disguise
In contrast to the first tongue-twisting video, Bell explained on Instagram, “13 days til 13K for #yr. Okay so play along with us… 💪. It’s as if our characters in Genoa City were actually taking a workout class at the Genoa City Athletic Club (GCAC). Cricket & Phyllis might not workout next to each other but remember…we’re just playing!! Hope you enjoy! 🎆🎶 #katyperry #justhavingalittlefunyr #girlpower.”
She included a clip from the filming of the short with the whole gang following along to DePaz’s instruction. Bell thanked him for his help, revealing, “Fun Fact Jonathan and I went to grade and middle school together! He’s been a figure skater performer at the Olympics, was Aladdin in Disney on Ice, and creator/owner of DePaz fitness centers!”
In capable hands like Bell and DePaz’s, we know this next video will truly get our pulses racing!
