Since 1973, The Young and the Restless has garnered numerous award nominations and wins and continues going strong as one of the top US soap operas. In March 2023, the show celebrated its 50th anniversary with an incredible primetime special. As time rolls on, the show heads toward its 13,000th episode and star Lauralee Bell has an exciting surprise to mark the occasion.
She’s Got Everyone Tongue Tied
According to a press release, Lauralee Bell — who’s played Christine since 1984 — “Has recruited her castmates to tackle the show’s tongue-twisting upcoming milestone, 13,000th episodes of the #1 rated soap opera, with a new video.” Bell not only created and wrote the special, but she also directed, produced, and even recorded it.
“We are all very proud of the incredibly high number of shows we have done over the past 51 years,” she explained, adding, “but just because we’re having a little fun struggling to say ‘The Young and the Restless‘s thirteenth thousandth episode,’ that doesn’t mean we’re not extremely grateful for this accomplishment!” And what a tongue twister that is!
A Gathering of the Greats
Joining Bell in the video are such Y&R stalwarts as Eric Braeden (Victor), Joshua Morrow (Nick), Courtney Hope (Sally), Bryton James (Devon), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), and Michael Graziadei (Daniel), among several others. Speaking of Graziadei, the timing is perfect because Bell reprises Christine so she can use her lawyer prowess to defend Daniel, who has been accused of murdering Heather (Vail Bloom). Christine had gone off with Danny (Michael Damian) on his rock tour around the globe but is returning soon to help Daniel. With this gathering of the greats, Bell is also showing off her filmmaking skills, having written, directed, and produced several fan-favorite videos, many of which she’s shared on her Instagram page.
We’re looking forward to all of the cast members involved trying to say ‘The Young and the Restless‘s thirteenth thousandth episode,’ which is sure to be hilarious!
