Janice Lynde, an original cast member of The Young and the Restless, is returning to the show. A show spokesperson confirms the casting news.
Janice Lynde Returns to Y&R
“Y&R original cast member, Janice Lynde is making a return visit to the show when she reprises her role as world renowned pianist, Leslie Brooks,” a show spokesperson announced. “Lynde last appeared on Y&R in 2018 for the show’s 45th anniversary. Lynde will appear in multiple episodes in mid-October.”
Lynde appeared in Y&R’s premiere episode as Leslie. The Brooks clan drove story for the show’s first several years. Leslie was first involved with Brad Elliot (Tom Hallick) and then became involved with Lance Prentiss (John McCook, now Eric on The Bold and the Beautiful).
Eagle-eared viewers have noticed that Leslie’s name has been mentioned a few times in recent months. Nikki mentioned to Summer that she’d seen Leslie in Italy where she’s been touring as a concert pianist. Might Leslie show up abroad or will she return to Genoa City? Stay tuned to find out.
Lynde’s Visits to Bay City and Llanview
Soap fans are familiar with Lynde from her other daytime roles. She played doomed nightclub singer Tracy DeWitt Matthews on Another World. Poor Tracy, who wed Dr. Russ Matthews (David Bailey), died in a car explosion in Las Vegas. Lynde also popped up on One Life to Live as Laurel Chapin. Ironically, Laurel also wed a doctor — Larry Wolek (Michael Storm) — and she also died while in a vehicle (car accident).
Janice Lynde’s other credits include Diary of a Single Mom, Six Feet Under, Touched by An Angel, Who’s The Boss, and Baywatch. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
