The revelation that Theo Vanderway is related to the Brooks family has begged the question why isn’t the character more interested in meeting some of those family members on The Young and the Restless? It turns out YR might have been planning on exploring that dynamic.
Jaime Lyn Bauer On Possible Return
Original cast member Jaime Lyn Bauer (Lorie) recently posted on Facebook that YR had invited her back to the show for two episodes, but a previously planned vacation already in progress left her with a tough decision to make.
“Y & R had asked me to do two shows,” Bauer posted on Facebook, “but unfortunately they wanted to tape it in the middle of my Cancun vacation…so I said no. So Happy New Year to you all! I pray you had wonderful, loving and memorable holidays!”
Lorie’s return is logical. She’s related to Theo (Tyler Johnson), who’s been revealed as the grandson of Lorie’s dad Stuart (Robert Colbert). While Theo’s been referred to as an “Abbott” since news of his paternity came out, he’s actually not — Theo’s grandparents are the late Stuart and Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams). Theo’s been seen briefly interacting with Jill (Jess Walton), who was once married to Stuart, but, apparently, he has yet to meet any other Brooks relatives.
Genoa City History
Technically, there are no blood ties between Lorie and Theo as Lorie’s biological pop is Dr. Bruce Henderson (Paul Stevens). However, Lorie would certainly be able to tell Theo stories about his grandfather. Perhaps Lorie will yet make an appearance in Genoa City once Bauer’s schedule aligns with the show’s?
It’d make sense also for Janice Lynde to bring Leslie back to YR. Both actresses appeared briefly in the show’s anniversary episode in 2018. Now that Theo’s on the canvas and has Brooks blood running through his veins, it’d be appropriate to have Bauer and Lynde return so they could meet their long-lost nephew. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
