It’s happened on The Young and the Restless before, a character is scheduled to appear for a few days, a few weeks at most… and he or she ends up staying for decades.

It happened with Paul (Doug Davidson). It happened with Victor (Eric Braeden). It happened with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). And now it looks like it might happen with Theo (Tyler Johnson).
He was just supposed to be Kyle’s Friend From New York, who also knew Kyle’s Big Secret. Well, the secret turned out to be lame. (Kyle and Theo once had the audacity to take an underage girl who’d snuck into their party and got deadly drunk to the hospital!) And Theo turned out to be Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) long-lost cousin. A grandson Dina (Marla Adams) forgot to mention.
Jack (Peter Bergman), having no other storyline to speak of, decided to obsess over bringing Theo into the Abbott family fold. He invited him to Christmas! He gave him a job at Jabot!

And Kyle’s wife, Lola (Sasha Calle) had the audacity not to hate Theo just because her husband did. That gave Kyle sads. Whose side are you on? We heard from almost 7,000 viewers!
Team Kyle
Kyle has been a contract player longer, so 88% of The Young and the Restless fans are more likely to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he says Theo is bad news, we have to assume he knows what he’s talking about and take him at his word.
Theo = Bad. Look how he dated Summer (Hunter King)! Look how complimented Lola’s cooking! Look how his Jabot marketing campaign went viral! The monster…
