Here’s Where We Saw DAYS And Y&R Alum Zack Tinker This Week

Zach Tinker is hitting the primetime circuit once again. The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives alum had a guest-starring role on the Thursday, November 14th episode of ABC’s medical drama, 9-1-1. He played the role of a rookie cop named Officer Sparks.

What to Know About Officer Sparks

On Thursday’s episode, aptly titled “Hotshots,” Athena (Angela Bassett) tried to catch up with the flash mob robbers who had infiltrated Los Angeles. She pulled her hamstring when she chased after them, so she was assigned a rookie to mentor her while on duty.

Tinker took on the role of the power-hungry new cop on duty. The LAPD spent $200,000 for his training. Athena had a bad feeling about him during their first call. She learned that the new guy on the block loved the “power” that came with being a police officer.

Athena expressed her concerns about him. She quickly learned that the rookie had a terrible disposition. He declared that he was “younger, faster, and stronger” than her. Athena asked to work alone.

Things took a dark turn. During a routine traffic stop, Officer Sparks got aggressive with the driver. He assumed he pulled a taser from his holster.

He actually pulled out a loaded gun and shot the female driver, who refused to leave her vehicle. Thankfully, Athena was there in time to help ease the gruesome scene.

What This Means For Tinker’s Role

Obviously, Tinker’s time on the police squad doesn’t last long. After the incident, Officer Sparks entered court. He claimed that he had blacked out and didn’t understand what had happened. Athena told him to admit to everything.

Sparks was effectively removed from his position. Fortunately, the female driver survived the shooting. Sparks won’t have a manslaughter charge on his record. However, he will end up with a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Tinker’s role came and went on 9-1-1. What does this mean for Athena’s future? Will she be considering retirement? It was briefly mentioned during the episode. All might be revealed during the show’s fall finale on November 22 or the season finale on March 6.
