The Young and the Restless veteran Tracey Bregman shared her candid thoughts about Lauren. Find out why she wants her alter ego to have more edge.
OG Mean Girl
Lauren was the original mean girl of Y&R. Bregman reflected on her character in an interview with Woman’s World. She wishes Lauren would bring back some of her toughness. Lauren doesn’t need to get into a catfight, but a little edge would do her some good.
“I feel like Lauren’s swung too far into the nice realm,” Bregman said. “I’m every gal’s best friend, and hey, I’m always happy to be at work…but I wish we saw a little bit more of Lauren’s edge.”
Y&R fans still love the time when Lauren bullied Traci (Beth Maitland). Bregman was in shock over some of the things she had to say. “There’s no way in hell we could say what I had to say to her on camera back then, she exclaimed.” The actress credits William J. Bell for putting life into her character and creating groundbreaking stories for Traci.

Your Own Worst Critic
Bregman admits she’s a mean girl in real life. She’s become her own worst inner critic. Bregman felt pressure to look picture-perfect at all times. She admits that she still struggles with insecurities to this day. The little mean girl inside your head never goes away.
“Every single day, I’m critical of myself,” Bregman explained. “Us girls, there’s a lot of pressure on us. Maybe there is more on me because I am being shot in HD. I don’t know who came up with that idea! And I really would like to have a conversation about the overhead lighting.”
Regardless, Bregman is still breathtaking at 61 years old. She’s focused more on being as strong as possible. The actress revealed that she goes horseback riding and does Pilates three times a week. She also follows a “vegan-ish” diet. Take a look back at Lauren’s reign in Genoa City.
