Here’s How Jack And Victor’s War Creates Romeo & Juliet On Young and the Restless

Josh Griffith spilled some shocking new teasers. The executive producer of The Young and the Restless revealed that there will be a Romeo and Juliet type of romance. Similar to the classic William Shakespearean play, this pairing will originate from their feuding families. 

Star-Crossed Lovers?

Y&R viewers already got a glimpse into Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) blossoming romance with Claire (Hayley Erin). In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, he revealed what will come from it. So far, the new couple has exchanged kisses and shared a heated moment. Kyle’s ex-wife, Summer (Allison Lanier), broke up that brief encounter. 

However, she’s not the one who’s the problem. Their feuding families will try to cause a wedge between them. But it won’t work. Kyle and Claire’s bond will only get stronger. 

“I think we’re definitely going to need to keep our eye on Claire and Kyle,” Griffith teased. “I think that’s a Romeo and Juliet story just waiting to happen because we’ve got two warring families [in their background].”

Newman Vs. Abbotts

The family wars will continue to wage on. There’s nothing like a good old-fashioned corporate battle to keep the spark alive. But these aren’t the same kind of sparks that Kyle and Claire are feeling. Victor (Eric Braeden) wants to get revenge on Jack (Peter Bergman) for being there during his wife’s darkest moments. He still thinks that something more sinister went on.

Griffith explained that the two men were playing a game of chess. They are one step ahead of the other. But Jack’s the one owning this game. “It’s always one chess move and then another chess move. Victor may think he’s gotten the last move, but he hasn’t captured the king,” Griffith said. 

Victor is usually the one who wins. But this is anyone’s game. “Let’s not count Jack out,” Griffith added. In the meantime, Kyle and Claire will continue to fall deeper in love.
